Yes! Reading is so sustaining. Anne Lamott essays; short fiction by Lucia Berlin (her words crackle!); and a wonder called The Scent of Time, by Byung-Chul Han, about the root causes of the current sense of accelerated time--lots to think about. I’m deeply into a third read. Yes to summer reading!! And to you Zoe!
Bless you, Alison! I purely love the title of that book you mention, The Scent of Time, will look it up. And Anne Lamott is always delightful. Not familiar with Berlin's writing. I find I'm happy reading short nonfiction pieces but with fiction, I want something longer. I just finished a couple of Brother Cadfael books (Ellis Peters) that were really short stories and I was umm, I like characters very much, but give me a whole book of Brother Cadfael, thanks.
Sending you love!!!
Thank you! I really appreciate that, obviously feel like I need it!
