The news of Kira’s sudden death has brought me hand-written cards, emails, texts, phone calls, packets of wildflower seeds, hugs in the grocery store and even overnight visits from off-island pals I haven’t seen in years.

Leslie, I understand what you mean about looking ahead. Planning is such a human thing. Walking is about the only way I can leave that. The trees are indeed getting me through this. I stopped on my walk today and physically leaned on a number of them!
