Thanks, Alison! Always nice to hear from you! When you speak about layers of pain, I'm getting the impression that you also have issues you deal with.
Yes! to the writing. My darling daughter once said to me, "Mom, someone would have to cut your head off to stop you writing." At the time she didn't mean it as a compliment but I took it as one.
You are a remarkably steady person in your writing habits. I'm so impressed.
I slid on ice 7 years ago, and broke an elbow. It needed surgery and I feel through cracks. Paying for that! Flamenco is better than physio, I now know :)
Ha! I so appreciate your daughter's word AND--more--your taking it as it should be!
Good to keep up in this way we do, here on the 'stack! Peace--
Pain is debilitating. I wish for better days ahead, Zöe.
I am working on being gentle with myself & my body, which is giving me pain. Words such as yours are a gentle reminder to show kindness to and to have gratitude for my body. 🙏 Thank you.
Monica, I appreciate your comment. May there be better days ahead! Spring is coming. And my honeysuckle buds didn't fall off in the cold snap, which relieves me greatly. It's interesting for me to notice how getting a bit of sun lifts my mood. Something to do with hope?
First time posting here- hi Zoe. I’m sorry to hear you’ve been in pain… Hope you are being as gentle with yourself as you are with your readers. Enjoy your posts from time to time when I have… Time… enjoyed it today very much. Take good care.
Love the piece about opening the door, too...
Chronic pain is tough. And at the moment there are layers of it, not only within. Write! Take moments!! And the homage to friends and friendship--yes!

I hear a woman scientist/reasearcher on CBC Radio this morning refer to this time of year as The Quickening. Love that.
Monica, I love that expression, The Quickening. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Leslie. Your comment about being as gentle with myself as I am with readers made me smile. Exactly. With the answer being not always. Thank you!
