Thank you, Joy! And I'm sorry for the recent losses in your life. I think it's important to recognize endings as well as beginnings. It's symbolic and we humans need this at a very deep level. At least I do!
Beautifully written. I, too, wrote THE END yesterday, but it is certainly just the beginning of what will likely be a long editing process. I wish us both luck.
Marlet, congratulations! That's so great you finished your project. It's the doing that's the hard part. The editing is certainly work, but for me, there's joy as I start to see the story become more what I'd hoped.
Endings are very hard. I am so happy when I read a story with a good ending. I especially enjoy endings that leave the possible future for my own imagination to make up. In real life endings are hugely tricky as well. According to Buddhist thought our minds fabricate our own personal stories and that’s the tricky bit. I light candles too. Apparently that’s all we are: pure light which never goes out!
Diana, yes, I really believe we are always making stories. I keep checking myself and asking, what exactly are you believing here? I do love a good story.
What a beautiful, thoughtful post, Zoe. I had two Celebrations of Life last Sunday, a cousin in Manitoba and a friend in North Vancouver whose service was available to watch online. Both were loved, will be missed, and had their ending recognized with laughter, tears, and singing. The day, for me anyways, showed that sometimes life just sucks and we need to find comfort where we can. Which is just what you wrote about so eloquently. 🤗

These words are lovely to read and to ponder which I did all day yesterday, immersed in the almost unbearable poignancy of September.
Diana, I'd never thought of September being poignant, but you're right, it is. Thank you!
Such beautiful sentiments, Zoe. Thank you. From Paris, where the chilliness is arriving even earlier.
Liza, I must admit that fall in Paris, or winter in Paris, doesn't have quite the same ring as springtime! Warm wishes--
